‘Exciting’ New Runner Joins Top Notch Crop of Candidates For Russian Presidency

This week another exotic person joined the squad of Russian presidential candidates.

On Wednesday Sergei Polonsky announced his intention to run for the presidency. Sergei had long been hiding on the Cambodian island from the enraged deceived stakeholders. He was swimming in the ocean dressed like Adam when he was caught by the local police. Those shots shocked everyone, but then it turned out that he had an empty leather sheath around his private parts. He also made a fuss in a local prison. Previously, he was punched in a television studio. And once he told everyone who didn't have a billion to get lost.

Now Polonsky himself does not have a billion but, not being ready for the previously planned route, he chooses the way up directly to the President of Russia. Like no one at the top, in the business, does not understand that there's no way without Polonsky.

Polonsky joined the company of other exotic presidential candidates: two blonde women from show business known not only for opposition to the Kremlin but also for hostility to each other. So we're waiting for the debate with a sinking heart. Having declared that they decided to take power in the state, blondes immediately lightly informed that they didn't have programs yet. Nevertheless, they gave some hints. From the intentions to protect the rights of women and children — this is trendy now — to the fact that Crimea doesn't belong to Russia the Russian Orthodox Church should be banned.

Can you imagine someone in Italy demanding to abolish the Vatican?

And the US sanctions against Russia are good. By the way, one of the blondes, armed with an extremely bright lipstick, announced her support of anti-Russian sanctions on the air of the American TV-company CNN. At the same time, the studio showed a set of impressive photos and called her a Russian Paris Hilton. She's from a good family too she's in show-business but became famous for scandals and trashy deeds. However, Paris Hilton didn't declare the desire to become the U.S President. The reasons are understandable, as show-business has its own laws and its own track. Does it intersect with the presidency? Especially in our country.

Jokes aside, what is the President of Russia?

In a simple way, it's a man who is so reliable that we trust him our children and their future. In our country the identity of the leader at all times whether under the tsar, the general secretary or the President, always colored a whole historical stage. We even put it so: under Peter or under Khrushchev, under Yeltsin or under Putin. Can you imagine that we suddenly say "under Polonsky" or under some of these irreconcilably scandalous blondes? Jokes aside, no way. And I'm sure that for each of the trio, running for the presidency is a game, a show, a tour, a kind of joke. Isn't it? No matter what excuses they make. Under the Russian Constitution, the President has enormous powers and a huge responsibility.

He personally determines the country's internal and foreign policies.

Security of the whole people depends on him. The President appoints the Chairman of the Government, the Minister of Defence, the Foreign Minister and the head of the Central Bank. He selects the judges of the Constitutional Court appoints the High Command of the Armed Forces and he himself is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The President is negotiating with the heads of foreign states. He may dissolve the State Duma and set any referendum. The President issues decrees and orders binding on the entire territory of Russia. Of course, the public mood in the country and the order depend on the President.

Politically, we do not have to agree with the President. We have opposition media — newspapers and magazines, radio and television stations finally Internet resources, where the situation in the country is sharply criticized. But even a remarkable critic is not necessarily able to become the head of the country assuming responsibility for Russia and the rest of the world where we have a vital role. I would say, a life-saving one. Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation also announced his upcoming nomination by the party congress. This is a different story.

Zyuganov devoted his life to the communist idea. You may agree with him or not, but he is a politician. He has a program and a network of party cells throughout the country. He has the experience of the USSR and a really impressive political experience in the new Russia.

Gennady Zyuganov, leader of CPRF: "We take the elections very seriously and we will definitely run for the presidency. We have a program "10 Steps to Dignified Life." This program can be implemented by a strong team, so we will give names later, but we will participate as a strong team". — Do you nominate for election? — I'm the leader of the movement. All organizations nominated me".

In any case, at the upcoming presidential elections in March we elect a person whom we are ready to entrust both our fate and the fate of the country in the most difficult and even risky situations to which our amazing people is not immune.
