The political settlement in Syria was one of the main topics during today's meeting between Vladimir Putin and his Egyptian counterpart. The Russian president flew to Cairo directly from Syria.

Another issue was the resumption of direct air travel between Russia and Egypt. However, the central topic was the construction of a nuclear power plant. Rosatom will build four power units in Egypt. The launch of the first one is scheduled for 2026. The total cost of the project is more than 20 billion dollars. This is a record deal in the world's nuclear industry.
