Russian troops that defeated terrorists in Syria are coming back home. It was Vladimir Putin's order. About two hours ago, experts from the International Mine Action Center arrived in the Moscow region. They were the first to enter the liberated territories and clear up the mines and improvised bombs left by retreating terrorists. In total, EOD specialists examined thousands of buildings and constructions including World Heritage sites in Palmyra and defused dozens of thousands of explosive devices. Supersonic bombers Tu-22M (Backfire) are also returning to their places of permanent basing. These planes were stationed at one of the airfields of the Southern Military District and, if necessary, carried out military missions in Syria inflicting group attacks on the militants' targets. Today, a part of them landed in Kaluga region, and the other part — in Murmansk region. A battalion of military police came back to Dagestan. These soldiers provided security of the civilian population, controlled ceasefire observation and escorted convoys with humanitarian aid.

Sarkar Magomedov and Aleksandr Kundurov reporting on how the heroes were accompanied and welcomed.

The Republic of Dagestan. A solemn meeting dedicated to the awarding of military police officers, who successfully performed special combat missions in Syria, with orders of honor and diplomas, could not do without Lezginka because Lezginka goes along with all important events in the republic. All of them left their homes for 6 months and 15 days. A very long time for mothers, wives, and children. But in Syria, soldiers could not afford to take it heavily, as their relatives did. They explain: there was a huge amount of tasks, with too much at stake.

Radio translation: "To award a Medal of Merit for law and order enforcement".

It was them who secured the passage of humanitarian convoys with products and medicines for the civilian population. It was them who did everything possible to maintain the ceasefire and came back as victors from where they served as peacemakers. For the persistence and objectives accomplishment soldiers of this battalion, who distinguished themselves in action were awarded medals.

Abdulkadir Gamzatov: "I'm proud that I'm serving in the Russian Federation Military, and I hope that I'll have a successor, who will follow in my footsteps".

In the arms of wives and mothers, soldiers do not even have time to answer questions.

Rakhima, mother of Abdulkadir Gamzatov: "Today's a happy day. Allah bless him and his family".

The whole family and all the neighbors greeted Abdulkadir Gamzatov as a hero. Just like his grandfather, who went through two World Wars, whose name Abdulkadir bears with pride. When friends and comrades ask what stuck in his memory most of all, he answers without hesitation.

Abdulkadir Gamzatov, acting platoon commander: "The biggest memory is Vladimir Putin, Sergey Shoygu, and Bashar Al-Assad on the parade square. All the military police officers were very proud and happy when they saw us off. And also the pleasure of coming home. Here's what stuck in my memory most of all".

For all these families, the holidays started earlier. For several days, guests will come to shake hands with the heroes and their countrymen. The soldiers themselves expect to enjoy the vacation given to them in order to get back to service. Each of them is ready for new challenges.

A group of long-range bombers Tu-22M (Backfire) brilliantly performed the combat mission. Soldiers receive awards for successful service. Only in the last three months, these bombers made more than 50 operational flights and delivered devastating strikes on terrorists' positions in Syria. Today the Tu-22M (Backfire) squadron leaves the operative airfield of the Southern Military District and return to the places of permanent basing.

A pilot: "I feel satisfied that the Russian Aerospace Forces assigned such a difficult mission. I think, we successfully completed it. I'm so happy to come back home to the family and children".

By tradition, before departure, a senior technician touches the fuselage's hand for luck. An incomparable scene: a huge plane promptly accelerate to a speed of 400 km/h takes off and hits the skies.

The first five long-range bombers have already landed at the Shaykovka airfield in the Kaluga region.

Dmitriy Kostyunin, deputy of the Long Range Aviation Commander: "New air tactics were practiced. New special equipment was tested. And I'd say that the planes showed good results".

Another unique plane landed on the home airfield at Ivanovo-Severnyi. The early warning and control aircraft A-50 (Mainstay) is the "eyes" and "ears" of our troops in Syria. At home, the crews are greeted as real heroes. The commanders are here, and, of course, friends and loved ones, who missed them terribly. Now the pilots have some time to rest before they once again return to air duty.
