Gang of "New Year’s Eve" Suicide Bombers Detained in Moscow by FSB

The Russian Federal Security Service shared footage of the arrest of supposed terrorists. Several apartments in Moscow were searched. The experts of the Security Service think that the culprits were preparing their attacks in Moscow and Moscow Oblast. At the meeting of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee the head of the FSB, Alexander Bortnikov, reported that the terrorists might have been financed from abroad.

 

Alexander Bortnikov, director of FSB: "As a result of a special FSB operation in the Moscow region a group of Central-Asian immigrants was arrested. They were planning to commit terrorist attacks including suicide bomber attacks during the New Year holidays and the presidential campaign. Our officers confiscated self-made explosive devices firearms and ammunition. A terrorist laboratory was liquidated".

Alexander Bortnikov also pointed out that in early December 2017, FSB officers terminated 2 militant groups. This year, more than a thousand bandits were arrested and 78 criminals associated with terrorists were neutralized.
