Dad of Hasan Diab, Famous Syrian "Gas Attack" Victim Speaks Out About Propaganda Swirling Around Son

Omar Diab, Hasan Diab's father: "Good evening. I'm Omar Diab, Hasan's father. I want to tell the truth about what happened. Hasan's mother and my children live in the basement. They heard someone yell, 'Go to the hospital!' My children heard someone yelling. They were yelling, urging everyone to go to the hospital. There was fire and smoke outside. They went to the hospital. They used the tunnels that lead to the hospital. They brought the kids to the ER. Then they started to pour water on them. Cold water. My children were suffering, they were stressed. My wife told me that these children were taken to the hospital without parental consent. Eventually, we realized the whole thing was fake, we were misinformed, it was a lie. We had no evidence of any use of chemical weapons. My entire family, all my family members feel well".

Hasan Diab: "We were scared. When we arrived at the hospital, we got there through a tunnel, they started to pour water on us in the hospital. Cold water".

- Thank you very much. Thank you for your story, let's continue. Our next guest is Halil Al-Jaysh, a recovery specialist.

Halil Al-Jaysh: "We came here to tell the world what really happened in Douma, not the lies that are spread by the media about the infamous viral video. I'm talking about the video that had been widely distributed. The video was about our hospital's emergency room. I am in that video, and I think that whatever they've shown in the video is not what happened there. On that day, on April 7th, I was in the emergency room. I was seeing patients and victims of combat actions. Later that evening, at about 7 PM, we had about 15 new admissions. All of them showed symptoms of asphyxia. The asphyxia had occurred due to smoke and dust inhalation. They only had symptoms of asphyxia, no other symptoms had been displayed. This had happened due to the bombing of the nearby buildings. One of the missiles had hit the building next door, which had caused the dust to intrude into the hospital. The emergency shelter, located above us, wasn't in an acceptable condition. People that were in that shelter upstairs had severe smoke and dust inhalation. That's why it all happened. It's safe to say that the displayed symptoms of asphyxia were not severe. We took all the necessary measures. Some people were given oxygen masks. We took all the necessary measures to treat the displayed symptoms. Considering what had happened to them, the victims were given hydrocortisone.

Then a man from the White Helmets arrived. He started yelling that chemical weapons had been used. Suddenly, a bunch of strange people started coming into the ER. They started to cause mayhem and pour water on people. Obviously, we didn't believe them. As specialists, we saw no health symptoms as the result of chemical weapon usage. There were nothing out of the ordinary. And, as I've already stated, there were no symptoms of chemical weapons use. All those cases were handled properly. Several hours later, all the people that were admitted with symptoms of asphyxia were discharged. There were no fatal cases or complications. Our emergency room is the only one in Douma."

- Thank you very much.

- Thank you. Our next statement will be made by a Douma resident, Abdurakhman Hijazi.

Abdurakhman Hijazi: "Good evening, I'm Abdurakhman Hijazi. I'm a Douma resident. I'm a day laborer, I do odd jobs and whatnot. I'm not employed at any healthcare facility. I'm just a simple worker. I went to the hospital that day because I was injured. There were about six or seven people, after about half an hour, seven people came to the hospital. They claimed to be from the Civil Ministry of Defense. They started to yell, 'These people were hurt in a chemical warfare attack." As a person who was there at the time, I saw that people felt fine, they were normal. I didn't smell any chemical weapons. However, all their yelling was causing mayhem. People were scared, but I can confirm that nothing happened to us. Neither I nor other people felt any effects of chemical weapons. Later, at about 2 AM, I left the hospital and went home. My house is located almost a mile from the hospital. I decided to walk home, I felt fine. After I got home, I felt fine, nothing happened to me. What the so-called White Helmets were hosing off of people was just regular dust from the bombings. No chemical weapons were used, we all saw it. There was no chemical attack in Douma. Thank you".
