G20 in Argentina: Lavrov Spills the Beans! Putin and Trump Set to Meet in Argentina!

Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will hold a meeting at the G20 Summit in Argentina.

Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will hold a meeting at the G20 Summit in Argentina. The summit will be held from November 30th to December 1st in Buenos Aires. There are agreements to hold negotiations.

Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov told this to our reporter Pavel Zarubin. He's in Kazakhstan now, where he's taking part in the CSTO Summit. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov is also in Astana.

Pavel Zarubin asked him what could be discussed by Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Argentina. Here's what Peskov and Lavrov had to say.

- Can we say for sure that the meeting between Putin and Trump will be held?

Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister: There is an agreement on it. I don't have any other information. Moscow and Washington have officially confirmed this.

- Could there be any eventualities, as it happens sometimes?

- I can be guided only by the information that we have today. I tell you again that Moscow and Washington have officially confirmed this. As of this moment, there is such an agreement. Representatives from the president's administration have already said everything about this meeting.

Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the Russian President: There are a number of issues right now. These issues involve not only our two countries but also global security and strategic stability. These issues are the situation with the INF Treaty, the situation with the prolongation of START, et cetera, and regional conflicts. All of this will definitely stall if not discussed at the highest level between the US and Russia. We can assume that the number of issues will grow before the G20 Summit is held in Argentina. So, everyone is waiting.

- Do you mean a possible strengthening of the US sanctions?

- We've recently witnessed the State Department if I'm not mistaken, make statements based on the fact that a so-called second wave of sanctions will be prepared and put into force. We'll see what it'll be like. We'll also see whether it will be able to affect the prospect of a bilateral meeting. So, we have more questions than answers so far.
