As part of his visit, Vladimir Putin participated today in the groundbreaking ceremony for a Russian Cultural Center. The Russian President arrived at the construction site followed by his Singapore counterpart Halimah Yacob. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that the new center will jump-start the development of the bilateral relations.
Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia: "We've accumulated the unique experience of cooperation in various fields and determined its further development. A comprehensive political dialogue at the highest level regular contacts between our parliaments, ministries and civil society actors created a solid framework for the development of the entire complex of our relations from trade and investments to science and education. I'd like to emphasize the steady reinforcement of the high-tech component of our cooperation. The cooperation of our foreign ministries is also gradually developing. We value the constructive role of Singapore in the development of the relations between Russia and АSEАN".
