The consequences of the New Year holidays. It's now time to tally the damage and to heal the wounds after a long winter break. Different companies and ordinary people usually face problems in mid-January. Follies lead to serious spendings and losses.

Kirill Popov tells us what events were the most remarkable this year.

The security guards await a man that gracefully comes out from a bank in downtown Moscow. It seems that they didn't dare go inside. Judging by the sounds there was something unimaginable. And that's the result of the dissatisfied customer's adventures. He broke everything that he saw. Walls, windows, equipment. Even ATMs, which surely were solid enough, were seriously damaged. It's hard to believe that just one person caused such a mess.

This incident took place in early January, during the winter holidays. By their end many, organizations have to tally the damage. It looks like the owners of this leisure center in Chelyabinsk will also have to cough up. A visitor, driving an SUV, tried to get inside using his vehicle. The police saved everybody from this unusual visitor. They'll probably find out how much the driver drank before getting behind the wheel. The owners of the club will obviously collect money from the driver for the repair of the stairs.

The New Year holidays are called crazy for a reason. In most cases, people act unreasonably because of excessive consumption of alcohol.

But there are other reasons. For example, teenagers want to look like a hero to their peers. In the end, it's the parents that are responsible for them. In Serpukhov, teenagers threw firecrackers from balconies and open windows as if they were competing in accuracy. The result wasn't didn't take long to manifest — a fire started. Several apartments were damaged. Now they required major repairs.

"There was a huge flame. All of the windows were broken. The curtains were burning. The heat was so strong that I took my dog from the bed and ran away from my apartment".

This video drew the attention of law enforcement officers in Saint Petersburg. Security cameras recorded shooting in the yard. Three people running on the playground near apartment buildings, shooting Roman candles at each other. Cartridges hit the buildings and exploded with sparks in all directions. Fortunately, none of the shells caused any harm.

But for a citizen of Omsk, New Year fireworks resulted in a serious problem.

Lyudmila Kleeva: “Pain. Burning. I turned around, I knew that my husband went behind me. I turned back and that's it. Just hit and darkness. I didn't see the lights.”

Lyudmila Kleeva has been in the hospital for almost two weeks. The doctors decided to cut out her right eye. On the night of December 31st and January 1st one of the festive fires hit her. It happened near the New Year's tree not far from the playground. According to the victim's husband, an unknown man started a fire. He lighted a large box of fireworks in the middle of a crowd. He then began to kick it for some reason. The shells flew all over the place.

Lyudmila Kleeva’s husband: "We suffered by accident. Because the explosion was near the slide with children around. And there were lots of people on the way out. Fireworks and explosions were among them".

And that's not the only example of how improper handling with firecrackers leads to tragedy. In Leningrad Oblast, a 30-year-old man died in front of his girlfriend, launching fireworks. Here he is, thinking that there was something wrong, he went to the launcher. An explosion occurred. There was no chance for the man to survive.

The last New Year fireworks were on Old New Year, January 13th. The first workday after that date can be called the unofficial end of the long winter holidays. Everybody spent them differently. Law enforcement officers and rescue teams tally up the damage to people and organizations in this period. Detailed statistics will be probably published soon.
