The US has been violating the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty for several years already. That was the statement by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov. At the same time, he said that the USA's statements that Moscow doesn't fulfill the treaty are ungrounded.
IGOR KONASHENKOV, MINISTRY OF DEFENSE: "The Ministry of Defense of Russia proposes to the Americans, before the termination of the INF Treaty, to take the necessary measures to resume strict fulfillment of the treaty by eliminating, first, land-based Mark 41 Vertical Launching Systems, which were developed to launch Tomahawk cruise missiles; second, eliminating target missiles with characteristics similar to those of land-based intermediate- and short-range ballistic missiles; third, eliminating unmanned combat aerial vehicles with characteristics that correspond to the definition of the term "cruise land-based missile" provided in the treaty".
