A few hours ago, the North Caucasian District Military Court sentenced the accomplice of the murder of Hero of Russia Magomed Nurbagandov. Artur Bekbolatov will spend 24 years in the high-security prison. It was he, according to the investigation, who filmed the murder of the Dagestan policeman, who, despite the threats of militants, urged his colleagues to continue their work. Sentence Bekbolatov, by partial adding of the appointed sentences, to 24 years in a high-security prison.

The attempt to justify himself, saying that he couldn’t stop what was happening, failed. Artur Bekbolatov, who filmed the cynical murder of Magomed Nurbagandov by militants, was sentenced to 24 years in prison. According to the investigation, he committed other grave crimes as well.

"Along with banditry and encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers, — Svetlana Petrenko, official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia, — he is guilty of participation in an illegal armed formation, deliberate damage to someone else's property, illegal seizure of a vehicle, illegal circulation of arms".

The prosecutor asked to give Bekbolatov a life sentence. He didn’t plead guilty during the investigation.

This criminal case was submitted to the North Caucasus District Military Court," Alyona Katykalo, press-secretary of North Caucasus District Military Court, "from the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Dagestan. The case consisted of 50 volumes. This criminal case was examined by the court within one month.

In his last word, the defendant said sorry to the relatives of the dead. In July 2016, Bekbolatov, along with other bandits, attacked the group of people with who Magomed Nurbagandov and his cousin, Abdurashid, were spending their free time. They killed both. Abdurashid was killed when trying to disarm the militants. They decided to make the massacre of Magomed demonstrative after they found his police lieutenant's ID. They demanded that he called on his colleagues to leave work in law enforcement agencies on the camera. He refused.

Magomed Nurbagandov was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Russia. The criminal, who wanted to not just kill him, but also humiliate him, will spend more time in the high-security prison than he already lived.

Arthur Bekbolatov became the last member of the gang who was punished. Earlier, Aziz Jamalutdinov was sentenced to 17 years of imprisonment. The remaining six bandits who resisted detention were killed.
