A tractor race was held in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The best machine operators of Donbass demonstrated their skills. They went through timed special sections on the fields not far from the demarcation line. In recent years, local farmers often had to work under the shelling of Ukrainian security forces, and therefore, speed is one of the most important skills for them. Stanislav Nazarov reporting.
The tractor multidisciplinary competition begins with single races on the range. Not everyone managed to get through the obstacle course at high speed and not to touch the tires.
Radislav Neiman, Chief Referee: "That’s the point, to hold competitions and see the skills of our machine operators, how well the tractor drivers are prepared. We are moving forward".
The demarcation line is on both sides of the field. Agricultural works have already been completed. The best tractor drivers, harvesters, and machine operators from all over the Donetsk Region participate in the competition and compete in the speed and quality of passing through special sections.
The Volnovakha city team from the Ukrainian territory arrived without telling anyone about the trip to the Republic that is beyond Kiev's control. Tractor drivers show their driving skill but hide their faces: "We are one people, one country. This division doesn’t divide us. We are one people"
After the competition in theory, the drivers set the plow and hook the trailer in the fields of Donbass against the clock. In 3.5 years of the Civil War, they had to learn to work quickly.
Pavel Cherkashin, technical school teacher: "We teach to work with any machinery. I work on the Don combine harvester, on ZiL and KAMAZ trucks. I work on any machinery. So for me, it's not very difficult".
The first tractor races in the Republic were held in the south of the DPR. The audience came here from all sides of the divided Donetsk region. Stanislav Nazarov, Vladimir Averin, Vladislav Mirzoyants, Andrei Rudenko, Oleg Bondarenko, Vesti, Donbass.
