Tonight, traditional winter dipping will take place all over Russia on the occasion of the Orthodox holiday of the Epiphany.

People got ready in advance. They make special holes and install baptisteries in the places for dipping. The eastern regions of Russia are the first to celebrate Epiphany.

And in Moscow, six dozen baptisteries were prepared. Places were selected taking into account the thickness of ice and weather.

At the same time, in a number of regions, swimming was canceled due to severe frosts. In particular, this was done in Norilsk, where the temperature is expected to fall down to 52 degrees below zero these days. A storm warning was announced in the city because of the cold weather.

In the Magadan Region, classes in schools were canceled again. Thermometers are showing 53 degrees below zero. Drivers were advised not to travel outside of cities.
