Russia will respond to the expulsion of our diplomats from European countries, the United States, Canada, and Ukraine. This was stated by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Tashkent. He called the action of other states, "cheekiness", and added the fact that most countries are expelling only 1 or 2 diplomats, which really shows something.
Sergey Lavrov: "The conclusion is that we were right when we stressed several times that, in today's world, in modern Europe, there are few independent countries. Secondly, of course, when one or two diplomats are asked to leave the country while the authorities of this country are whispering an apology in our ear at the same time, it really shows that this is the result of colossal pressure, of colossal blackmail, which, unfortunately, is now the main instrument of Washington in the international arena".
