Putin Turns Attention to Tatarstan And Petrol Plant to Process and Produce High-Quality Fuel

By video link from Kazan, Vladimir Putin and head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov have launched the industrial dispatching of petrol produced by oil and gas company Tatneft in Nizhnekamsk which is reported to possess new-generation engineering capacities. The plant is supposed to produce up to 3,000 tons of high-quality fuel a day.

Vladimir Putin: "You know that we systematically support the Tatneft company at the national, federal level. This targeted support is due to the specific resource base you use. And I'm glad to stress that this support, being targeted, turned out highly effective, including, or even primarily, thanks to your contribution".

Later, Vladimir Putin and head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov discussed major strategic projects and, in general, the development of the republic.

Mintimer Shaimiev also took part in the conversation. He headed the region in 1991-2010. The President paid tribute to Shaimiev's contribution to the creation of the Islamic Academy and also conveyed the demand of the Kyrgyz leader that Kyrgyz clerics could also study at this academy.
