The drills of the Pacific Fleet anti-sabotage detachment began. It will celebrate its 50th anniversary soon. In mock combat, divers destroyed underwater saboteurs and demonstrated the abilities of the most advanced weapons and equipment.

Here's Andrey Kolesnikov reporting from Primorsky Krai.

Military divers from the anti-sabotage detachment descend to the bottom of the gulf. They carry special underwater rifles and guns. They immediately begin to fight with the hypothetical aggressor. The visibility is just 6-9 feet. It's hard to hit the target. In addition to this, underwater shooting requires special skills and strength training. The shooter experiences strong recoil and hydro-blow.

"It's a blow at the chest. There's a reservoir bag which interrupts your breath".

Meanwhile, the reconnaissance group reported that the raid has been mined. This is the first task: there, near the shore in the bay, a floating mine was found. Now, a detachment of EOD specialists is going there to defuse it. This is the so-called electromagnetic mine. A special approach, extraordinary security measures, and special equipment are required. It was decided to destroy the bomb on the spot.

Now, the air assault group is to support the divers. The enemy unit hides on the shore. But the saboteurs were attacked from the sea and from underwater. The drills are being continued on the newest, fast, anti-saboteur Grachonok boats.

And this is the Anapa sonar. The equipment which they're lowering into the water can detect various targets within 2,000 feet, including divers-saboteurs. The sonar works along with the automatic ten-barreled mortar. It aims it at the target. It can fire right on the go.

Another day of drills comes to an end. And the commanders already make a plan for the next drill.

Evgeny Skosar, executive officer: "The servicemen have huge experience of working underwater, at various depths, using various equipment, and on land".

They say that the servicemen of the anti-sabotage detachment never relax. At any moment, the special units protecting the Pacific Fleet could be given real combat tasks, instead of training tasks.
