Russia Celebrates Cosmonautics Day! No One in the World Has Same Caliber of Rockets!

On April 12th, Russia celebrated International Cosmonautics Day. The Soviet Union opened the road to space for people. Today, we're still leading in the industry, although there's becoming more competition. The president said that to be the leader on earth, one needs to be the leader in space.

- On April 12th, Russia celebrated International Cosmonautics Day. The Soviet Union opened the road to space for people. Today, we're still leading in the industry, although there's becoming more competition. The president said that to be the leader on earth, one needs to be the leader in space.

- There have been many unpleasant stories around the space industry recently. But the Energomash Corporation keeps up its standards. It continues to make the best rocket engines in the world. In the US, for example, they can't do without them, no matter how much they'd like to.

"These goals are worthy of a great country".

- Thank you, Yana.

- They built a road for Khimki residents. That's great!

On their way to the stars, it was more important for them to have an ordinary road now. Energomash, the flagship of the Russian space industry, is clutched in Khimki that is choked up with traffic.

Vladimir Putin: Will you split it with the Ministry of Transport?

- Sure.

- Thank you very much! Thank you!

If it doesn't take two hours to get to work, it's surely more pleasant to make the best rocket engines in the world. When rockets are launched from the American cosmodromes, they are launched only thanks to Russian engines. Russian science is on the rise in every sense.

The agreement to supply the engines RD-181 was signed in 2014, during the peak of anti-Russian sanctions. Nevertheless, 19 Russian engines have been already sent to the US. Americans simply can't do without them. Whatever the US does, it can't get rid of this dependence.

- They'll never get rid of it.

- Never?

- Our engine is the best one in the world.

Even the hyped-up Elon Musk claimed that although he feels ashamed for American companies, there's still nothing better than Russian engines indeed.

- Why do they not impose sanctions against engines?

Yury Borisov, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia: “Why would they impose sanctions against engines if their space program depends on it?”

They aren't crazy in this regard. To remain the leader, Russia needs a new breakthrough in the space industry.

Vladimir Putin: “We need to take new steps to develop the space industry. Up to 20,000 new highly trained specialists are needed.”

A national space center is being established in the country.

Vladimir Putin: “To be among the leading countries on earth, we need to be the leader in space.”

- When will we fly to Mars?

- Soon.

- And what for?

- To learn what's there.

It isn't science fiction. Energomash has already been developing engines which can take rockets to such remote planets. It asks for funds to develop principally new systems.

Vladimir Putin: 5 billion, right?

- 5.6 billion.

- So, nobody can cheat on you, right?

- 5.6

- 5.6 billion, okay. We'll find money.

Roskosmos is required to increase efficiency and reliability at Energomash. After many emergencies at other enterprises of the industry, surveillance cameras are installed everywhere. Near the engines, they're installed 3 feet apart.

"They're installed around and see everything, on any side of the engine".

There are posters with safety instructions everywhere. They're so creative that even attracted the attention of the spokesperson for the president and the chief of protocol who've seen a lot. At that moment, Putin was in a room closed to the prying eye looking at new top-secret developments. Experienced designers and young specialists are creating something that is to surprise people.

- I have a question which is inappropriate to ask girls. But how old are you?

- I'm 27.

They don't experience the problems of the previous decade wide-scale aging of the staff. But the quick rejuvenation led to other things. Smart and promising specialists are being drafted, and there are no deferments anymore. They ask Putin for help.

- Did you serve in the army?

- No. I used the deferment.

Vladimir Putin: "At first, we're working to create a professional army. So, the draft will be gradually abandoned. It wouldn't probably be serious for me to make such a decision right now, on the go. But we'll try to prevent the industry from losing its specialists".

While Putin was talking to the employees of Energomash, the CEO of the corporation stood aside listening to every question and breathing a sigh of relief after each of them. When invited to take a joint photo, he managed to pose together with the staff and the president.

- After all, the leading countries in the world state that they want to lead in space.

- So, Russia shouldn't lose its leading position but it should rather strengthen it. Many critics say that there's Elon Musk and we've fallen behind him a lot. On April 12th, you showed the launch of the super-heavy rocket of Elon Musk which brought the Saudi satellite if I'm not mistaken. What's important, the three parts successfully returned to the earth for the first time. We aren't saying that space and space studies require continuity, including technical succession, scientific succession. Like it or not, but the problems we have now and which we've begun to solve come from the 90s. Yes, Elon Musk has demonstrated his response to RD-191. It hasn't been serially produced yet. But we already have something to show off too. It's an investment like in a good orchard. Sometimes you need to wait for a while and do what we do to see fruit. It means not to spare money, attract young specialists, preserve traditions.

- So, Elon Musk is very good advertising. Elon Musk is very good advertising but I exclude all this part. Let's look at the essence of things. We've done many little things which they often don't pay attention to. Now, they quickly mastered the technology of delivering to the orbit when we carry out the docking with just two revolutions, which has never happened before. There are many nuances. But as it often happens, it's very important for critics just to express their negative attitude.

And April 12th of 1951 is a dark day in the history of US aviation. On that day, in the sky above Korea, the Soviet flying aces destroyed American bombers which seemed completely untouchable then. They were of the same class as those which bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was a famous air fight which only experts remember today. Although sometimes it's necessary to remind some historical episodes. Then the present day will look different. The faces are good. The country's space industry is alive. There are young specialists. So, we shouldn't hurry up. Everything will happen. It'll happen in time. What's important, it'll be of high quality.
