It's about the development of AI — the technology that will completely change the life all over the planet in the next few decades. They showed Vladimir Putin Russian developments in this area. They seemed to be a fiction just a few years ago.

In order to ensure a major breakthrough, Russia has prepared a specific national strategy. There's a struggle for technological leadership in the world.
Vladimir Putin: "If someone can ensure a monopoly in the field of AI, the consequences are clear to all of us. He'll become the ruler of the world. It's not a coincidence that many developed countries have already adopted their action plans for the development of such technologies. Of course, we must ensure our technological sovereignty in the field of AI".
Russia has good starting conditions. The cost of network access is one of the lowest in the world. There's a strong scientific school. It's remained the leader in mathematics and physics for decades.
There are no teachers in this school; all of the tasks are given by computers. There's no schedule, everyone studies at his own pace. The main thing is that the bell never rings. The school is open 24/7. Moreover, one can study in this setting or this one, for example, which is a way more comfortable. The course lasts up to three and a half years. They plan that about 1,000 specialists will graduate per year. Moreover, students also check each other's tasks.

AI can improve the efficiency of entire industries by 30-40%. The main thing is to develop domestic technologies.

The global goal is to become one of the leaders in the development of AI. At least 20% of large and medium-sized companies, as well as government bodies, should introduce it by 2030.
Vladimir Putin: "You know, we can not introduce it. We've lived until now, and it was okay. We need relevant decisions by the ministries and departments in order to introduce it. After all, we need to promote these products. Yes, it can be more expensive if we, let's say, make them do it. It can be more expensive in the first stage. But there'll be such a great breakthrough then that it'll justify all of the initial investments".
Plans for the development of AI will be a part of a separate federal project within the framework of the national project Digital Economy.
