Russian Film Director Speaks Out Against Western PC! Calls Out Bogus New Anti-Male Rules!

Last Wednesday, the famous Russian film director Andrei Konchalovsky spoke out against the new rules of the leading European festivals - in Cannes and Berlin. They're introducing so-called gender equality. The rule set forth in the memorandum provides that from now on, the films selected for the contest should meet the requirement that half of them should be made by men and a half - by women.

Last Wednesday, the famous Russian film director Andrei Konchalovsky spoke out against the new rules of the leading European festivals — in Cannes and Berlin. They're introducing so-called gender equality. The rule set forth in the memorandum provides that from now on, the films selected for the contest should meet the requirement that half of them should be made by men and a half — by women. That is if talent used to be the deciding factor, now, they've found something higher in Europe — gender.

Andrei Konchalovsky, a veteran of both Russian and Western film industry, says what he knows without hesitation.

Andrei Konchalovsky, film director: "There are statistics, and only the blind don't see that there are more male directors in the world than female directors. The same is true for conductors and trombonists. This simply contradicts physiology".

Konchalovsky talks about physiology but doesn't explain it. But if we follow this thought, then why not honestly admit that women are much more physiologically capable of realizing their potential in the world. More than men. For example, a woman, unlike a man, can give birth and devote herself to raising her children. This is the natural choice of many. It's clear that some of them go into film-making, but they're obviously fewer than men, who have a more narrow physiological spectrum of life possibilities.

Continuing his thought, Andrei Konchalovsky resorts to generalization.

Andrei Konchalovsky, film director: "It’s hard to imagine a more absurd decision! And this also indicates the decline of Europe. The next step is the obligatory representation of sexual minorities or people with disabilities. And so on".

And this requirement is purely Soviet indeed — by gender, by belonging to the working class, the peasantry, or the employees. Such requirements didn't save the Soviet Union. Now, Europe introduces them as something fresh and progressive.

And really, why the festivals in Cannes and Berlin wouldn’t take care of sexual minorities, fat and skinny, of different religions and atheists, racial equality like this? Where should they stop? Or, if you need to pay special attention to women, then, perhaps, they should organize different contests at film festivals: among women and among men? Like in sports: female and male boxing, female and male soccer. Why mix them? Female and male chess. Everything was invented long ago. Feminists will be pleased. Or not?

Andrei Konchalovsky, film director: “I think that the hidden desperation of the directors of the festivals, who now have to collect films of men and women in equal proportion, simply has no limits. To be honest, I am glad that we live in a country where political correctness isn't going off the scale.
