Ksenia Yakubina was present at the ceremony.

The Vladimir Emelyanov is a ship with the world's largest solid-cast fiberglass hull. She's much lighter than her predecessors but just as durable. The hull of the ship is corrosion-proof, so, according to experts, if the relevant operating rules are observed, her service life is unlimited. The minesweeper is capable of seeking munitions on the water, deep underwater, and even below the seabed. At the same time, she remains out of range of enemy ships. The ship uses various types of trawls to combat mines as well as remote-controlled and autonomous unmanned underwater vehicles.

"A feature of this ship is that she is completely made of composite materials. She is equipped with the latest effective robotic tools. With the help of these tools, she can perform her tasks".

The minesweeper is named after Vladimir Aleksandrovich Emelyanov, a legendary shipbuilder and the director of the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard. This is the fourth vessel of a special class. The lead ship of the project, the Alexander Obukhov, was commissioned in 2016.

"Quite recently, a draft government recommendation of the Russian Federation on the creation of digital enterprises was released. I'm sure that this experience will be in demand not only at the United Shipbuilding Corporation but also in other sectors of our defense industry. because there really has been a lot done and is being done to introduce and develop breakthrough technologies".

The Black Sea Fleet is scheduled to receive the Vladimir Emelyanov new project minesweeper in 2020 after she has passed state tests. Before 2050, it's planned to build another 30 ships of this type.
