In other news, Russia is refusing to take sides in the trade war between the United States and China. Instead, it will focus on defending its own economic interests while taking the interests of the EAEU members into account. Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister, shared his stance with the Kazakh news agency Khabar. The foreign minister added that cooperation within the World Trade Organization is the only way out of the crisis.

Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister: "It's hard to say what will happen next. Our American colleagues clearly believe that their economic power, as President Trump said, allows them to resolve any issues on their own, without regard for any multilateral structures. They long longer seek to fulfill the commitments that the United States used to assume. For some reason, the current administration considers them obsolete. However, I'm convinced that the US administration will eventually come to understand the importance of working together and following the rules that the World Trade Organization has developed over the last few decades".
