Great news from Milan. It became known Saturday that the Scarlet Sails, a festival for graduates in Saint Petersburg, was recognized as the best festival in the world, taking the grand prize at Best Event Awards international festival.
The nominees were evaluated by such criteria as creativeness of the idea, technological innovations, flawless program performance, involvement of participants, and atmosphere.
The festival for graduates, the Scarlet Sails, was celebrated in Leningrad from 1969 to 1979. It was revived in 2005 on Vladimir Putin's initiative and it's sponsored by the Bank of Russia and Channel Five. This year, the festival took place during the night of 23 to 24 June.
It was attended by 1.4 million people, which became the record high in the history of the Scarlet Sails.
