Sergey Shoygu has visited today the military units of the Central Military District. His first stop was the machine factory in Krasnoyarsk, where the rockets for the Russian Aerospace Forces are assembled, he checked how the work is done on the assembly lines, and then in Novosibirsk he inspected how the high-ranked personnel is trained.

Artiom Potyomin has the details.

This is the main assembly floor of the Krasnoyarsk machine factory. This is where one of the parts of the Russian strategic nuclear weapons: ballistic missiles for the submarines. Now the factory is under a full-scale modernization. For example, this assembly line has already been modernized and is operating at full capacity.

How the State Defense Procurement is carried out at the Krasmash was checked today by the Russian Defense Minister. Sergey Shoygu was told about the tests of the cutting edge prototypes, which could be created after the factory modernization.

"Ready, right! Attention! The Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Sir, the fifth-year cadets on a lesson in combat use of the radio-technical units."

In the Institute of military engineering of Siberian Federal University, the Minister visited the lessons of the future officers of radio-technical troops. The combat unit trains its skills in classes using simulators which imitate battalion command post. Information on air targets is received by the personnel’s tablets. The computer analyses the data itself and provides possible ways of eliminating the border trespassers.

Cadet: "We provide the data manually. In other words, the operator receives data, sends it to the target plotter, the chart operator sends it to the company's tablet. Then the data is read and sent to the recipient".

The cadets invited Shoygu to the university's museum. Many of them participate in search operations discovering and preserving the knowledge about the heroism of the Soviet soldiers in WW2. The Minister of Defense contributed to the exhibition himself by gifting the university a collective, 12-volume issue devoted to the history of the Great Patriotic War.

Sergey Shoygu, Minister of Defense: "Here are 12 volumes of our history, history of the Great Patriotic War. There are three issued by the Ministry of Defense. A large group of scientists worked to issue these unique books. So read them to know even more".

Upon his arrival to Novosibirsk, Shoygu headed straight to the Chkalov aircraft factory, birthplace of the Russian miracle — frontline bomber SU-34. This aircraft has proved its durability and effectiveness in its first operational flight during the Syrian campaign. It destroyed the terrorists' infrastructure and vehicles in the Arab Republic. In recent years, the factory manages to accomplish the State Defense Procurement ahead of schedule. The Minister of Defense ordered to preserve the production rate and not to forget about creating new models.

The Minister's next stop is Novosibirsk High Military Command Control University. Here the delegation from the Ministry of Defense laid floral tributes at the monument at the heroes avenue devoted to the distinguished graduates: intelligence officers, killed in the line of duty.

In the classes the cadets study the details of their profession. Divers, for example, get to the bottom of all stages of operation before submerging. The exam on the equipment is administered today by the Defense Minister himself.

Sergey Shoygu, Minister of Defense: What sustains your life underwater?

Cadet: DA-21, sir.

- I see. Operating time, navigation?

- Up to 4 hours. Underwater operating range is up to 20 meters, compass is used for navigation.

Right now the cadets are preparing for this summer International Army Games. The residence halls were renovated specifically for receiving foreign guests. And the cadets themselves, who won the Best intelligence students award in 2015, are going to reclaim the award this year.
